Prenatal and Postpartum Therapy

The transition into parenthood can be emotionally and physically challenging. Prenatal and postpartum difficulties are often ambiguous due to overlapping symptoms within the realm of normal adjustment, such as fatigue. If you are concerned about how you, a partner, a friend, or a client feel during the postpartum period, please seek guidance, advice, or reassurance. If left untreated, prenatal and postpartum depression and anxiety may increase in severity or lead to chronic difficulties.

We offer an affirming therapy space for 2SLGBTQIA+ clients, whether your identity is part of why you are seeking support, or part of your story that you’d like your therapist to understand and honour. We have therapists with experience in supporting you through identity exploration and development, relationships with family, friends, and partners, experiences of discrimination and stigma, gender dysphoria and body image, and self-criticism and shame.

Individual Therapy

Are you currently experiencing difficulties with depression, anxiety, panic, and anxiety attacks, phobias, anger, stress or are struggling with regards to relationship, self-esteem, trauma, grief, or loss? If so, seeking counseling services combining Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT) strategies and interventions can assist you in understanding and overcoming these concerns and issues. In my therapy sessions, we’ll work to solve current problems and improve positive thinking and behavior. We will help you “re-frame” your reactions and provide you with valuable tools to cope with life’s obstacles. Get in touch to book an appointment.

Thrive Psychology and Wellness Centre practices psychotherapy virtually across the culturally diverse province of Ontario. We respectfully recognize and acknowledge that the land we primarily serve (i.e., Ontario) is rooted in the traditional territories of the First Nations and Métis Peoples and is home to many Inuit people. We acknowledge Indigenous people as the original keepers and protectors of this land and are grateful for the many opportunities that this privileged land affords us in our beautiful province and country. As a psychological practice, we dedicate ourselves to practicing respectfully and mindfully, and to developing greater cultural literacy and responsiveness to Indigenous populations and issues.
